Once home at the flat you literally can hide your car keys. You are within 10 minutes of the little village of Penn Hill with a Co-Op convenience store for that forgotten pint of milk or Mark Bennett’s award winning artisan bakery and patisserie for meal size sandwiches, delectable pastries and the best sausage rolls in the universe! Penn Central is a great bar, including its street served bacon rolls and you have 2 more excellent restaurant/bars in Jenkins & Son and Gossips as well as Fort Raj, a recommended Indian restaurant. In this tiny village there is even a hot yoga studio.
Ashley Cross is walkable where there are another collection of good pubs and eateries: sample The Cow, The Ox and the Dancing Moose. And for a throwback pub, try the Bermuda Triangle. It is real community feel with a number of festivals held on the green. Again you can walk to Canford Cliffs itself with 2 great gastro pubs, The Cliff and The Plantation.
You can even walk to the beach through the Chines. If you are so inclined it is about a 20 minute walk from the flat to the harbours edge, part of 7 miles of continuous beach from Poole to Bournemouth and beyond. From there you can stroll along the beach or the promenade to the famous beaches of Sandbanks. You will find wonderful special occasion restaurants with Rick Stein’s open on the edge of Poole Harbour and the Pig on the Beach is in Studland via the chain ferry.
Sports are a feature of the area. I guess that an interest in the water brings you to want to live here. The prestigious Royal Motor Yacht Club is on the Sandbanks peninsula, Salterns Marina is the other side of Evening Hill and the sailing centre of the area is Parkstone Yacht Club in Lilliput.
Parkstone Golf Club, one of the top 100 courses in the country is on your doorstep.
The harbour itself is the second largest natural harbour in the world (after Sydney) with many marinas capable of mooring the largest of yachts. Poole itself is the home of Sunseeker Marine. The natural harbour ensures safety and security for the yachts and the wonderful microclimate created by the Purbeck Hills makes for regular use of the water. And watching the kitesurfers and windsurfers in this UK hub for the sports will leave you open-mouthed.
Despite living in one of the most stunning places in the UK, the area is a significant business hub with the headquarters of JP Morgan, Vitality, LV, Sunseeker Marine, Barclays International, the RNLI and Merlin Entertainments all in the conurbation.
From the you are approximately 2.5 hours from London by car. It is a mile to the Wessex Way with at least dual carriageway to the New Forest, Southampton and the UK motorway network. By rail there are direct routes to London and Manchester with Parkstone and Branksome railway stations within walking distance. Bournemouth International Airport is the fastest growing in the UK and from Poole there are ferries to France and the Channel Islands.
This flat is in a wonderful lifestyle location.
